Mike Bibb is a lifelong Marylander and 21-year Talbot County resident with a long career in public service and community leadership. He is committed to protecting our county’s quality of life through affordable housing, better public services and improved infrastructure. Mike Bibb is running for Talbot County Council and would like your vote!
About Mike
Public Service, Leadership
A former president of the St. Michaels Town Commissioners, Mike currently chairs the Eastern Shore Leadership Board. Previously he served as vice president and executive board member of the Maryland Municipal League and past president of the Eastern Shore Association of Municipalities.
Mike began his career as a correctional officer in Prince George’s County and spent 20 years as a volunteer firefighter. He moved to the Eastern Shore in 2006, met his wife Shari here, married in 2010, and bought and rehabbed their forever home. Over the years Mike has served in local and state jobs, including energy inspector for the Maryland Department of Housing, helping improve homes for low-income families.
Since retiring in 2023, Mike remains active in the workforce and deeply engaged in civic life. He serves as chair of the St. Michaels Waterways Committee and a vestry member at Christ Church St. Michaels. Talbot residents of all ages also know Mike for his role as Santa at the St. Michaels Community Center and other local venues.
Mike’s Priorities
Mike Bibb’s campaign for Talbot County Council centers on responsible, community-focused decisions that preserve the county’s rural character while preparing for our long-term needs.
Responsible Growth
Mike supports development that respects community character, protects existing neighborhoods, and puts long-term planning ahead of short-term pressure.
Affordable Housing
Mike will work to expand housing options for local workers, families, and seniors so the people who sustain Talbot County can continue to live here.
Infrastructure First
As a county, we must require that adequate roads, utilities, and public services keep pace before we approve major new development.
Climate Resilience
Mike believes the county should plan in advance for flood protection and resilience of infrastructure in vulnerable areas, including St. Michaels and other waterfront communities.
